Above the Threshold
The Year of the Snake closed on a pattern.
A Christian leader invited public disagreement. He was killed for it.
Politicians from both parties were targeted. Judges, officials, and private citizens were threatened, injured, killed. Not for crimes. For positions held openly.
None of this was isolated.
Civility is collapsing. Ideological extremism, political rage, and untreated mental illness now function as operational risks.
The Year of the Horse begins under that condition.
Visibility produces exposure. Public conviction produces threat. Influence produces vulnerability.
This is not commentary. It is the operating environment.
The principals at this level share a posture. They have stopped retreating from public positions. The infrastructure around those positions has not kept pace.
The gap is where harm enters.
Three things move in parallel at scale.
Influence—the protection of reputation when alignment makes the principal a target.
Infrastructure—the hardening of exposure points that grow with public visibility.
Intelligence—the identification of threats before they reach the perimeter.
Below a certain threshold of visibility, none of this is necessary.
Above it, none of it is optional.
The Horse runs forward. Forward movement, without protection, is exposure dressed as conviction.
Protection by Design, Not Chance
